The Southern Star Invitational offers both festival and competitive opportunities with nine judges. The adjudication is broken down into the following captions:

1 Visual Effect
2 Visual Performance
1 Music Effect
2 Music Performance
1 Colorguard
1 Percussion (field and front ensemble)
1 Dance/Majorettes
1 Drum Majors

Execution and performance qualities are both evaluated, allowing the talent levels to be maximized for each band. You will not only hear feedback on your design and programming from leaders in the activity, but also be invited to participate in a personal discussion with the judges at the conclusion of the performances!!

Our goal is to provide a unique opportunity to receive feedback from respected experts in the musical and marching arts. We believe in the development of young people into magnificent human beings through performing arts. We support both competitive and non-competitive philosophies, and we allow the band director to choose which method best supports the educational needs of their program.
