Facilities
The Southern Star Invitational is committed to providing the very best facilities so that you, your band, your supporters, and our guests can enjoy the safest and best possible experience.
Excellence in the Show Venue
South Gwinnett High School has a large and impressive stadium. The press box has five separate rooms as well as roof access and provides a great performance view, standing 60 feet above the field level. Elevator service to the press box is available exclusively for directors and instructors. The field, recently redone Bermuda grass, provides a smooth and level performing surface.

The unloading and staging areas, as well as the warm-up fields, are conveniently located and planned for easy access.

Excellence in the Guest Facilities
With 5,200 seats on the home side and 2,800 on the visitor side, there is plenty of room for bands to watch other performances. There is also plenty of room for your supporters to enjoy the show in comfort. Acres of parking are within an easy walking distance.

In addition to two concession stands, food and drinks will be available from a variety of restaurants in a food court type setting, including hamburgers, barbeque, pizza, and chicken.

For safety purposes, water stations are located by the warm-up fields and around the stadium. A trained and equipped medical staff will have locations on-site in case of a medical emergency situation

Excellence in Opportunities
We encourage and provide opportunities for college and university music departments from around the southeast to set up displays for students to explore opportunities to continue and expand their marching band experience. Exhibits and recruiters will be on hand from several major DCI drum and bugle corps, including the Cadets of Bergen County, Spirit, Carolina Crown, and the Crossmen.

Make sure to allow time for your students and parents to explore these exhibits and displays!

Excellence in Organization
Both adult and student StarGuides are assigned to stay with each band from their arrival through their post-performance seating. Equipped with wireless communications, these StarGuides will stay informed of the logistical plans and can quickly answer any questions or resolve any problems. A show coordinator will be available at all times to manage the show.
